The intention of this project was creating a new corporate office for Hemmings Motor News. The office would symbolize a new organization as the company was acquired by a larger publishing group and the new publisher sought a special organization that reflected his desire for an open accessible management style. The work consisted of consolidating and accommodating staff from
a remote facility by renovating existing storage areas. The space planning provides for future staff, a lounge for informal
discussions, two conference rooms and a combination of new offices and cubicles. Colors and materials were chosen to provide a warm natural feel to the office environment even
on a cold winters day. The design provides integration of permanent offices with open office systems and conference rooms. The final configuration allows for flexibility and expansion as future publication needs fluctuate.
The open plan provides a friendly atmosphere and easy access to team leaders which mirror the company’s employee work ethic.
