This house is set on 30 acres with panoramic views of Bennington and the green mountains.
The challenge was to create a new “farm house” that took advantage of the views but also felt connected to the site. The final articulation of the house became a blending
of the design sensibilities of the English owners and typical New England farmhouse form and original captured concepts. The entrance to the house masks the tremendous view.
The grand 2 storey entrance space with curved stairs opens into living and dining areas set to take advantage of these long range views to the south and east. The master bedroom
orients to closer and more intimate views to the west. The interior is a mix of formal and relaxed spaces. The main living and dining rooms are treated with molded trim and
corners while the family room area is post and beam construction. Brick walks and patios are combined with a stone tile screen porch and large filed stone entrance paths.
